My old air gap had corroded and this one bring back the luster. The plastic pipe fixture allows for the hose from the dishwasher and the one from the garbage disposal. The hoses on the old one were a bit difficult to get off but they went onto the new piece easily. The cap will fit all the way to the counter level so I had to trim the rubber washer a bit as the compressing nut distorted it slightly.
